First Date Debrief Template
A first date debrief is a 60-second note you write right after the date: her name, where you went, three things she told you, one thing to follow up on, and how you felt about it. Do it the same night. That one minute is the difference between "how's your sister settling in?" on date two and "so… remind me what you do?"
You don't need a journal habit or a fancy app to start. You need the right five questions, asked while the night is still fresh. The template below asks them. Fill it in on the way home, copy it wherever you keep notes, or just leave it here — it's saved in this browser.
Keep it about her, not about grading the date. The goal isn't to analyze; it's to remember. When date two comes around, you'll walk in knowing the details that matter to her — which is exactly what makes people feel listened to.
If writing things down after a date feels a little intense, think of it like saving a contact. You'd never try to memorize a phone number you need next week; her details deserve the same respect. Thirty seconds of typing tonight beats an hour of trying to remember on Saturday.
Everything you type stays in your browser. We never see it. No signup, nothing to install.
Questions
What should I write down after a first date?
Her name, where you went, three things she told you (life, people she mentioned, interests), one thing to follow up on, and a quick gut check on whether you want a second date.
How soon after a date should I debrief?
The same night — on the way home is ideal. Details blur within a day, and the small specifics (a sister's name, an upcoming interview) are the first to go.
Is a date debrief the same as rating the date?
No. A debrief is for remembering her details, not for scoring her. Keep the vibe check to one honest line and spend the rest on what she told you.
